What not to buy!

This post is a reminder to myself about the different products that I have collected over the years and haven't used. I've been spending a lot of time organizing and purging my scrap room. It is easy to hoard cute stuff, but at the end of the day if it isn't being used - it needs to go!

Buttons: I've got jars and jars of them, but I never ever use them.  Buttons=dust collectors.

Mini album kits: It pains me that I spent $30-$50 on mini album kits. I have one that hasn't even been touched (purchased 2009). I decided to take the kit apart and use the supplies separately. I DO NOT DO MINI ALBUMS!! There is never enough room for photos. I am a 4x6 girl.

Page kits: Along the same line, I have purchased many page kits because I loved the theme etc., but the truth is, I like to do my own thing and it is harder for me to make stuff within a the limits of a pre-made page kit.

Mists: Luckily I don't have a lot, but the ones I do have are barely used.

Patterned Paper: Must.Stop.Buying. unless it is for a very specific project.

Large stamps: The kind where you have to have a special contraption (still in package) to use them.

Single image punches:  An owl, a rabbit, a snowflake, a circle, a square.... never use. I do use my border punches though.

I am sure this list will continue to be updated. For now, I must remember what not to buy!

Scrapbook Territory Haul

While I was in the Bay area, I was lucky enough to take a quick trip to Scrapbook Territory! This is an amazing place. Every single scrapbook item you could imagine and so many surprises I would never think of. I had to keep my spending in check, but here's my haul. So excited by all the fun paper patterns.

Another Tuesday Morning Haul

I just returned from our annual Florida trip and my annual visit to the amazing Tuesday Morning store they have down there. There may be a location near me, but I like to pretend this is a unique place that I can only go to on vacation - that mentality helps save money! This trip I was really excited by the different pre-made kits they had. I really wanted the Girl's Paperie Halloween kit, but decided to go with the travel one instead as it was more versatile. Here's what I picked up.

Heidi Swapp Travel Kit: alphas, stamps, masks, die-cuts, rub-ons
The Girl's Paperie Vintage Travel Kit: papers, trims, die-cuts, brads, charms, chipboard
Tim Holtz dots & alpha grundgeboard
Tim Holtz configurations box
Heidi Swap ghost alphas
American Crafts tent stamp set
2 sets of Thickers
3 Making Memories alpha sets

Go Canada! Cricut Cart

I am so excited about my most recent purchase! The Go Canada Cricut Cart is exclusive to Michael's Canada. I tried several times to locate it while I was up visiting family, but it was always sold out. The prices on Ebay were ridiculously expensive. I was thrilled to find out that they are now being sold on Cricut.com. I ordered one as fast as I could and had it just a few days later.

This cart has everything I need for my Canada layouts: hockey, curling, bear, canoe, tuque, a Tim Horton's like coffee/donut, loonies and toonies, the provinces, an alphabet and so much more.
C'est tres bon!

Tuesday Morning Haul

Making Memories - Great Escape Collection - Cork Alphabet Stickers

My Tuesday Morning bargains!

Lake Placid layout for Creative Retreat

Even though it is week 4 of Creative Retreat and my goal was to not spend any money until class was over, I bent the rules..slightly..but I am forgiving myself because I think it was a wise purchase. One product I use a lot of and always need are alaphabet letters. I get tired of using my Cricut and prefer the ease of precut letters. My latest love is cork and I noticed that scrapbook.com just got a new selection of cork stuff in, but that is another story. The Making Memory cork letters are my absolute favorite. I love the neutral look and texture. I recently bought my second package of them at a retail store for $3.99! Well imagine my surprise when I hit up Tuesday Morning and found an assortment of 4 letter packages, including my cork favs all for the same $3.99 price! I also scooped up an alphabet stamp set with 69 pieces, alpha brads, alpha stickers and these fun brown tone paper flowers. I know I will get good use out of this stuff.
