Back with more cards!
I am not a fan of months where I don't post anything. It happens though and you can't look back at what could have been, you can only look forward to what will be! I've got lots of cards to share and my next big project is going to be a wedding scrapbook for my cousin (a Christmas gift)! I've already got the supplies, photos and an outline. I am also working on a 2nd birthday party and look forward to sharing some cute stuff from that event!
Here are a few cards from August that never got shared.

Happy 40th Birthday Cards
My favorite set of twins is turning 40 this month! I can't help it with the matching cards. The cards are very similar, but they have their own personalities :)
The mini flowers were one of my Tuesday Morning bargains and I embellished them with stickles.

Happy Happy Happy Card
Anyone who watches a certain show about a family of country folks and some ducks might recognize this quote. I have a friend who absolutely loves the show DD so this was my attempt at a humorous card.

Watermelon Birthday Party
For my daughter's baptism and first birthday I decided to throw a watermelon themed party. Watermelon is her favorite food so I thought it would be cute and the hot pink and bright green color combo is so much fun. Here are some details from the day!

Bucket favors for the kids including watermelon glasses and twirly straws

Pumpkin Birthday Banner
Every year I offer to help my friend out with decorations for her girls' birthday parties. This year her daughter who is turning two is getting a fall/pumpkin themed event. She asked if it was possible to make a banner shaped liked pumpkins. I had never done it before, so I was excited to go outside my comfort zone. I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

Another one of my favorite Cricut cuts. I just love this birdie! And she loves to celebrate birthdays!

Princess Card
This card has a few different Cricut pieces, but still very simple to make. I love this sparkling circle paper and what princess doesn't want some bling!

First Birthday Owl Card
I've used this beautiful owl many times before. She is one of my favorites. A quick craft punch and a balloon and this little bird is ready to party!

Toddler Birthday Cards
We have two birthday parties in the next few weeks for some special little girls who are turning 3. I wanted to put together fun colorful cards to help celebrate.
Birthday girl #1 happens to love sunglasses. This pair is from the Paisley Cricut cart. I just realized after looking at the picture that one of my green dot decorations fell off! I'll need to fix that!
Birthday girl #2 loves the beach. The crab cut is from the From My Kitchen Cricut cart.
Both of these papers were from an old Target $1 spot package that I have been trying to figure out how to use up.

April is Card Month for Me
Wow - you go a few weeks without posting and Blogger changes their back end look and feel! Note to self to try to keep up.
I think everyone I know has a birthday in April. I've counted at least 10 so I've been in card making mode for a while. I've come up with a simple initial design that I can reproduce with different looks. I've been using up some old embellishments and trying to shop the stash as much as possible.
Here's a sample of some of them.
Our family friend is also celebrating his 80th this month so I made a special card for him.

Birthday & Thank You Cards
Here's a simple birthday card and a thank you card that I put together this week.
Thank You!
Unfortunately, you can't see from this photo, but I actually used a polka dot stencil template with Versamark and then I heat embossed the pattern. The stitching was made possible by the Sew Easy tool.
Happy Birthday!

Patterned Paper Gift Wrap
Another great idea from class....using your patterned paper as gift wrap. I decorated this gift box with paper, handmade rosette, flowers, stamps and stickles. The band slides off so all the elements stay in tact. Prettier and more personalized than Tiffany's!

Quick Card Post
I'm long overdue for a post! I've really been enjoying the Curious Scrapbooker's Field Guide and have been spending a ton of time making cards using all of the great techniques I'm learning. Here's a sampling:

Counterfeit Kit: Christmas Layout & Card
I have been so inspired this month and am just glad that I've been able to spend most of the long holiday weekend locked away in my scrap room. Here is a double page layout I put together using my Christmas Explosion kit and a sketch from the Double Take class I took last year at Big Picture.
Full Page Layouts:

Page 2:
I was also able to throw together a birthday card for a co-worker. This is the first time I have tried to make my own rosettes using the Martha Stewart scoreboard. This one had a few mistakes that I just hot glued together so you can't exactly tell, but I think I need some more practice! The lighting is off, but the rosette is made from the light blue pattern paper in my One Calm Day kit. The border paper is a solid light grey.

Happy 2nd Birthday Banner
Earlier in the month I shared my paper haul from Scrapbook.com. I purchased all of this gorgeous paper to make a fun owl-themed birthday banner for my favorite 2 year old girl. Here is a picture of the final banner. These are a labor of love, but well worth the time and it gets easier each year (mostly thanks to my Gypsy!). This will be my birthday tradition for her. Her cake was super adorable and delicious. It was a very fun party! I'm hoping her mom sends me the pictures she took with her camera - which is much much nicer than my little Elph.

June Counterfeit Kit: Card #1
I threw together this quick card for a friend's birthday last night. Most of the items are from my summer add-od kit. I used my fun Target $1 spot paper, colorful flowers (I actually picked blue & orange because my friend went to Syracuse) and the Fun & Sun stamp which I believe was also from Target. I did have to go outside my kit for the green ribbon and the Cricut cut-out. My kit had the bright pink ribbon which wasn't manly enough!

An Assortment of Cards

It has been a crazy week and I haven't been able to craft as much as I have wanted or needed. I'm so terribly behind in getting out a few birthday and graduation cards. I'm hoping if they are cute enough the recipients won't even notice how late they are! My new favorite embellishment is embroidery floss in place of using ribbon. There are still many more cards on my list for the month of June so I'm sure I'll be posting more once I get the time to create them!

Rock N Roll Birthday
My friend Kathy loves rock music.. absolutely loves it. So I wanted to do something special for her birthday. I whipped up a batch of Rock N Roll cupcakes - complete with little guitars that say Kathy Rocks (thanks to my Cricut)! My husband helped me come up with the best names to use. I also put together a Rock N Roll card! She was so surprised and went straight for the Nikki cupcake first. Yes, I spelled Flea wrong, but she laughed so hard because it is a running joke what a bad speller I am -- and I know nothing about music so I had no idea I was spelling it wrong.
