Thank You Cards

Here are a couple of simple Thank You cards I pulled together while watching the Bachelor finale last night. Glad it was a 2 hour show! My friend had given me an assortment of scrap supplies for my birthday and I wanted to incorporate them into her card. I also used a few pieces from my Counterfit Kit. The second one scanned crooked and I'll be honest, I'm feeling too lazy to scan it again!

March Counterfeit Kit Challenge

Studio Calico's Into the Woods Kit

My Counterfit Kit

I recently learned about the Counterfit Kit Challenge and was so excited because this is right up my ally. Back in August of last year I did a similar exercise when I pulled together a kit for the Big Idea Festival over at Big Picture. The kit they were offering was sold out, so I shopped my stash to come up with similar substitutions.

Now I learn out there is a monthly challenge that will allow me to do this! I love it! I love how pulling together these assorted supplies makes them feel new again and forces me to reach into supplies I barely use. Here is my first attempt at the Counterfit Kit Challenge. I wish I could tell you all the pieces I used, but I'm not that into keeping track of the different brand names and there are so many different pieces. Can't wait to actually create some things with these supplies.

My Pink Stamper Challenge

My Pink Stamper issued a challenge to create something using a "feathered friend"! I needed a birthday card for a co-worker and decided to use this as inspiration. The owl cut is from the Sugar and Spice cart and so super cute. The quotation bubble is from George. The ribbon is from Amuse.

A Banner Surprise

Birthday cake banner!

Sitting right in front of me for over a year!

I love banners! Love them...you will see them as a common element in my layouts. I buy banner stickers, patterned paper, stamps etc. Well, imagine my elation when I was using my Cricut Sports Mania cart and I stumbled across a banner image! I had no idea it was there. And so the first thing I had to do was figure out a way to use it. It just so happens that I had made my husband a birthday cake and wasn't sure how to decorate it - a banner!! Can you tell how happy I am?

Tuesday Morning Haul

Making Memories - Great Escape Collection - Cork Alphabet Stickers

My Tuesday Morning bargains!

Lake Placid layout for Creative Retreat

Even though it is week 4 of Creative Retreat and my goal was to not spend any money until class was over, I bent the rules..slightly..but I am forgiving myself because I think it was a wise purchase. One product I use a lot of and always need are alaphabet letters. I get tired of using my Cricut and prefer the ease of precut letters. My latest love is cork and I noticed that scrapbook.com just got a new selection of cork stuff in, but that is another story. The Making Memory cork letters are my absolute favorite. I love the neutral look and texture. I recently bought my second package of them at a retail store for $3.99! Well imagine my surprise when I hit up Tuesday Morning and found an assortment of 4 letter packages, including my cork favs all for the same $3.99 price! I also scooped up an alphabet stamp set with 69 pieces, alpha brads, alpha stickers and these fun brown tone paper flowers. I know I will get good use out of this stuff.

Crafty Card & Prodcut Review

Today I was suppossed to be attending a Crafty Ladies Card Party, but due to yet another impending storm, the party was postponed. Essentially there are 15 ladies and everyone designs a card that can be assembled in 10 minutes, bringing all of the necessary supplies. You leave the party with 15 amazing and unique cards. This month's theme is "birthday". I have had these super cute Paper Trey Ink stamps that I have been itching to use and these seemed like the perfect audience.

At the last party, I learned about Ranger Glossy Accents. How did I now know about this product before? I am completely addicted. I love how it turns flat embellishments into 3D fabulousness. I also discovered you can use it as a regular adhesive. You don't need to use a lot, so my bottle has lasted a long time. In this card, I had a button stamp and I added the Glossy Accents to create the appearance of a real button. So cool! I highly recommend trying this out if you haven't had the chance.

Creative Retreat

This week I started a new Big Picture Class with May Flaum - Creative Retreat! I had an amazing experience during my first May class and have been looking forward to this one ever since she announced it. I love the energy, inspiration, and support of her classes and I'm way more productive when I am participating in a class. There were several assignments to kick off the week, but I found mysef drawn to making a tag.
